This backyard in Herriman was a mess - and that's putting it nicely. The old sprinkler system had completely given up. Patchy grass, failed irrigation lines, and uneven ground made the whole space basically unusable. The homeowner had been dealing with it long enough. Time to start from scratch.

First thing we did was abandon the old system entirely. There was no saving it. We pulled it out and installed a brand new irrigation system from the ground up - properly zoned, properly placed, and built to actually do its job. You can see the new valve manifolds set in clean valve boxes, wired up and ready to go. That's the kind of foundation you need before a single roll of sod ever hits the ground.

Next came grading. The yard had some serious unevenness to deal with, and you don't just throw topsoil and sod on top of bad ground and hope for the best. We graded the whole space down, got it level and properly sloped, then brought in screened topsoil to give the new lawn a solid base to root into. Screened topsoil matters - it's free of rocks and debris, which means grass roots can establish faster and more evenly.

Once the ground was prepped right, we laid fresh sod across the entire backyard. The new sprinkler system was already dialed in, so the lawn started getting the water it needed right away. That first watering after a sod install is critical, and having a reliable system in place made all the difference.

What we ended up with is a clean, green backyard that actually functions. No more dead patches, no more irrigation guesswork. Just a solid lawn with a proper system underneath it keeping everything alive. This is the kind of work that Herriman homeowners shouldn't have to put off - a failing sprinkler system only gets worse, and the lawn pays for it every single day.
